ATI History
| Access Technologies, Inc., (ATI) History | In 1994, Access Technologies, Inc., ATI, formed as a nonprofit organization to continue the work of the activities of the Assistive Technology Act of 1998 grant, which formed in 1990. Today, Oregon’s Statewide Assistive Technology Program is sponsored by the Oregon Department of Human Services, Seniors and People with Disabilities and is partially funded by a grant from Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) of the U.S. Department of Education. ATI administers Oregon’s Statewide Assistive Technology Program through a team of Certified Assistive Technology Specialists.
Today, ATI is recognized as the leader in ergonomic and assistive technology. Our Board of Directors: Davey Hulse Chair:
Davey is a blind technology user who is the CEO of a blindness-related transcription company: Braille Plus. He was on the governing board of the original Tech Act grant from 1989 to 1994. Davey was a founding ATI board member in 1994 and has served continuously on the board. He developed the current ATI business plan and is serving as Chairman for the ATI Board of Directors. Ken Reinhart Vice Chair:
Ken retired from the National Forest Service near Prineville and is especially interested in safety and ergonomics. He is a stroke survivor with right side paralysis and has served as a Board Member for over ten years. Susan Goode Secretary/Treasurer:
Susan has a profound hearing loss and uses a variety of assistive hearing devices both personally and professionally. She has 30 years experience in the Insurance Industry and currently works for the State of Oregon Workers' Compensation Division. Over the years she has worked for several non-profit organizations, assisting them to become better known in and for the communities they serve. Robin Linville Member: Robin currently is a procurement and contract specialist with the State of Oregon. She serves as the ergonomic coordinator and is a first responder for her agency. This is one of the reasons she has wanted to become involved with ATI. She has been an ATI Board Member since 2010. Meet the Staff of Access Technologies, Inc. Laurie Brooks President
